Preview build. The four stones shown are samples for layout: their certificates, prices and report numbers are placeholders, not offers. Nothing here is for sale yet.

The atelier

We are new, and we will not pretend otherwise.

Most gem houses lead with their years. We lead with our paperwork.

The name

Artha is Sanskrit. It means wealth — and purpose. Prosperity with a reason behind it. In the old texts it is one of the four proper aims of a life. It seemed the right name for a house that deals in objects meant to outlast their owners.

A new house, plainly

What we offer instead of heritage is verification. A registered company. A physical address you can stand in front of. Laboratories you can telephone. Report numbers you can type into a website that is not ours.

Nothing on this site asks to be believed. All of it asks to be checked.

The founder

[Founder name]

[Placeholder — a two-to-three-line factual biography goes here. This is required before launch: an anonymous house is a reason to leave.]

One principal, not a sales team. Enquiries to Artha go to the founder and are answered by the founder.

What we sell, and refuse

Unheated and traditionally heated stones, each identified as one or the other in the laboratory’s words. We do not deal in diffused, glass-filled or clarity-enhanced material, and we do not use invented grades — no “AAA”, no “investment grade”.

The atelier is at 269/C, Hokandara Road, Thalawathugoda 10116, Sri Lanka — by appointment, Monday to Saturday. About an hour: the stones in daylight, a loupe and tweezers, the reports on the table, a scale, and tea. No obligation attaches to any of it.

Stones can be brought to your Colombo hotel or bank by arrangement, and we hold video consultations in your timezone.
