The market
Stones are bought one at a time at the morning markets — Ratnapura and Beruwala chiefly, Elahera in season. Market provenance is a dealer statement, and the site says so.

The pits
Sri Lankan mining is small-scale and licensed; the open markets we buy in are where those pits sell. No chain of intermediaries stands between the pit and this page.

The cutting
Cut in Colombo. Each stone’s page renders its recorded cutting location from the catalogue field, so the claim cannot drift between surfaces.

The export
NGJA valuer inspection, the licence number on the invoice, the parcel wax-sealed by NGJA and Customs officers, insured to signature.
