A fine band of silk crosses the pavilion — invisible face-up, visible under a 10× loupe. A small window opens at low tilt. The pavilion is slightly deep, so the stone faces up a touch smaller than its weight suggests. In incandescent light the blue warms without greying. None of this is unusual in an unheated Ceylon stone; it is noted here because it matters to the price, and because you would find it anyway.
