The colour sits at the boundary the trade argues about. Under a strong lamp it leans pink; in daylight the orange returns. Two crystals are visible at 10× near the girdle and neither reaches the surface. The stone is cut a little shallow to hold the colour, which costs it some brilliance at the centre. We would rather you saw it on video before forming a view.

Padparadscha is a Sinhalese word before it is a trade term, and the stones that deserve it are rarer than the name's use suggests. This one is offered on application because the price depends on where a buyer stands on the boundary.
